Caring For Your Budo-Gear

Gi Maintenance CareWhilst Budo-Gear's tough and smart construction will survive the worst abuse dished out to it, it is recommended that you take good care of your training apparel and increase its long life. Here's some tips:Warm or cold wash.Hakamas are best washed by hand.If you iron your gear, follow the same procedure (#ironing) as described for Hakamas.Never use bleach or chlorine products. Ammonia and liquid soap or SA8 are good.If you must, most fabric softeners are OK.Rinse thoroughly at least twice in clean cold water after washing. After a strong, sweaty session ALWAYS hang your damp gi up to dry. Never leave it in a bag.In case of stains, blood, coffee, tea, etc., soak immediately in cold water. Then with a couple of tablespoons of EITHER bicarbonate soda or borax dissolved in cold water for a few hours. Then rinse and wash as usual. Hydrogen Peroxide also works well on fresh stains without damaging fabric.Make sure your Budo-Gear is thoroughly dry before storing.Cotton items survive tumble dryers well and retain their shape if you immediately remove and hang them.Items containing polyester must NOT be dried with high heat but hung up to dry naturally or using low heat under supervision.

Why Budo-Gear?

Why Budo-Gear?Ever had a gi that was your very favourite and after that no other gi was ever quite the same? Well, all Budo-Gear has that very same feeling. When you get Budo-Gear you are treating yourself to your very own favourite gi. The Japanese Kanji BU has been interpreted to mean 'war' but in fact literally means 'Stopping the Halberd', 'Stopping the Weapon' or 'Stopping Violence'. The very presence of the Budoka was often sufficient to stop a crowd and deflate evil intention without need for action. This same crowd-stopping presence exists in all our Budo-Gear but for a different reason. It's simply stunning gear which gives the wearer amazing presence. What is it about our Budo-Gear that has this effect? We can't tell you, but without giving away too much, it's a set of manufacturing and design secrets which only live and shine in genuine Budo-Gear (component/page,shop.browse/option,com_virtuemart/Itemid,3/). Your Budo Gear is only a few clicks away. Try it and see! (component/page,shop.browse/option,com_virtuemart/Itemid,3/)

Bringing Back Colour

Why Colourful Patterns? As we go along, it is our intention to introduce colorful apparel back into the world of budo. The Samurai were a colorful lot. Old Japan was not drab but replete with artistic endeavour. It was a culture celebrated with many variegated creative arts. Wherever possible, nothing was bland or drab.Is there a law that says we must now train or otherwise wear plain colours? Certainly not!! For your added enjoyment, Budo-Gear honours the tradition of pleasing patterns by reintroducing a range of uniquely designed, colorful patterns to our range of Budo-Gear apparel. See Limited Edition (component/page,shop.browse/category_id,33/option,com_virtuemart/Itemid,33/).Do you have what it takes to start a new trend?
